1. ACT Alberta; Action Coalition of Human Trafficking Alberta: 2 credits - FREE

ACT Alberta is a Canadian coalition of Government of Alberta representatives, non-governmental organizations, community organizations, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. ACT Alberta provides resources to help front-line workers identify potential trafficking situations and aid victims of human trafficking by increasing knowledge and awareness on human trafficking, advocating for effective rights-based responses, building capacity of all involved stakeholders, and leading and fostering collaboration and communication for joint action against human trafficking.

2. Myofascial Dysfunction: 2 credits

Join Dr. Laurie Fisher (PhD, RMT) in a discussion of the aspects of myofascial dysfunction as frequently encountered by manual therapy providers. Understand the manifestation and pathophysiology of this prevalent condition.  Laurie recently completed her PhD in clinical research with a focus in myofascial dysfunction in patients with Dupuytren Contracture.   She will discuss the relevant connection between symptomology and management in patients with this condition.

3.  Sexual Misconduct Workshop: 4 credits

Following the high incidence of inappropriate touch, sexual assault and abuse cases in the Massage Industry, Instructors of Alberta College of Massage Therapy: Alyssa Hendry and Janet Mwamburi developed a training program to inspire prevention of sexual misconduct in massage practice. The program is also designed to encourage compliance to Massage Therapy Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics as laid out by regulated jurisdictions and professional bodies in non-regulated provinces.

4. Align and Refine Self-Care for the Upper Body: 4 credits

5. Fundamentals of Advanced Orthopedic Massage: 4 credits

This seminar will cover pregnancy massage, stretching techniques, proper positioning and draping specific to pregnant and postpartum women. Contraindications, complications, postural changes and basic anatomy of the pelvis will be examined. Labor massage techniques and postpartum care will also be taught. This course will show therapists how to treat expecting women effectively and compassionately.

6. Kinetic Massage of the Neck: 7 credits

10.  Headache & Migraine: The Osteopathic Approach: 12 credits

Upon completion of this two-day workshop the participants will be able to identify and treat clients suffering with Headache and Migraine issues by utilizing both bio-mechanical and mobilization techniques that Alexandre has demonstrated and illustrated using the Osteopathic View. These include; How to mobilise the cervical spine to treat tension headaches and alleviate pain, how to mobilise the cranial sutures in order to improve the cranial bio-mechanical mechanism, how to assess and treat the vascular system in relation to headaches and be able to apply specific clinical tests to help in determining the bio-mechanical cause of the pain.

11. K-Taping Pro: 12 credits

The K-Taping Pro course covers the basic functions and effects of K-taping. Applications learned in the two-day course are for muscle, ligament, functional corrections, and fascia corrections. Lymphatic correction techniques are also introduced. Participants will receive instruction on the application of combination techniques for multiple conditions including: impingement syndrome, whiplash, low back pain, finger contusion, wrist stabilization, Iliotibial Band Syndrome, Patello-Femoral Syndrome, knee arthritis, Achilles tendonitis, ankle weakness, plantar fasciitis, scar tape application, lymphatic dysfunction, as well as the indications and usage of Cross Taping.
