Susan Lewis-Waye

Acting Vice President

Bio: I joined the RMTA as a student in 2012, and became a full member in 2013 upon completion of the required 2200 hour certification.  I also hold an International Contemporary Cupping Certification as well as a certificate for Taping Level One and Two. In 2013 I shifted my studies to Whole Woman Program and became a Certified Practitioner in 2014. I have been drawn into the circle of alternative health care and relish the opportunity it has afforded me to become involved with clients who thrive on a healing touch. I believe our industry has a viable place in the health care system so I decided to put up my hand to become part of the Board that shall help make that happen. I own my clinic in Drumheller, Alberta and look forward to absorbing more information to pass on to my ever-growing client base!

Meagan Dick

Acting Secretary

Bio: Meagan Dick is a 2012 graduate from Alberta Massage Training with a passion for working with people. Early education found her in the social work program at Mount Royal University until her career took a different path into massage therapy. Here she is able to utilize her strengths and own her own business. After registering with RMTA in 2012, Meagan continued on in the medical field to obtain her Emergency Medical Responder Certificate in order to fortify her knowledge in emergency response. Other courses she has completed include Cupping Therapy, M2T Blading course and Advanced Orthopedic Massage courses.

Meagan continues to build her own business through networking opportunities and public speaking and has attended BNI meetings to help achieve this. Meagan looks forward to promoting RMTA in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Through school visits, she plans to educate prospective members of the benefits they can expect when they join our association.

Ted Ghertsos

Acting Treasurer

Bio: I completed my 2200 hour massage therapy program in Windsor, ON 2012. I then moved to Alberta and joined the RMTA as a member that same year. I hold a shiatsu certification as well as a hot stone massage therapy certification. I have practiced at well-established clinics and high end luxury spas over the past 5 years throughout Calgary and as far as Grande Prairie, AB. I have always been passionate about being in the health care profession and using my skills to help in recovery and well-being of clients. I believe our industry will only continue to grow over the coming years and I am happy to be part of a profession that is always changing in light of new research and information. I hope to learn much from our previous treasurer and bring the Remedial Massage Therapists Association and members to new heights as we push on toward full regulation in the province of Alberta. My desire is to bring my knowledge of coming from a regulated province for RMT’s in Ontario and applying this insight to help with this process in Alberta. I feel honored and privileged to be a part of this wonderful team and am excited for the transitions to come.

Ardis Tingey-Ryall

Bio: My name is Ardis Tingey-Ryall, I have been a massage therapist for 20 years and I own my own business In Touch Massage Centre in Lloydminster. I have belonged to the RMTA for 20 years. I joined RMTA because I believed in what they stood for. They only allow 2200 hour therapists to join their association so I knew that I was going to be among other therapists that were worthy of the title RMT and had good education background. I have been on the RMTA board for 12 years and continue to support the new executive in office today. I believe in the RMTA so much that I have served as a board member for years and I believe that we all must do our part to help it to move forward and stay strong.
