Len Balogh

Past President

Bio: I have been an actively practicing RMT for over 17 years. I started my own clinic from the ground up, and have seen it evolve from 2 employees to over 27. In this time I have been a member of many massage associations, and have participated on many boards. The one thing that seems consistent is that the majority of those involved work for others and have not had to deal with staffing or training issues, which have a significant impact on the massage industry. In 2000 my partner and I opened the Northern Institute of Massage Therapy to address the training that we felt was lacking in the industry. The RMTA meets both my needs and the needs of our students. It also meets the needs of employers in the industry by ensuring competent levels of training and conduct. In my role as President of the RMTA I was able to use my experience to further the Association’s objectives, and appreciated the opportunity to do so.

Vice-President

Position is Vacant

Joanne Guenther

Secretary

Bio: I have been a practicing RMT since 2009, and graduated from the Northern Institute of Massage Therapy. I am certified in Lensen techniques, Visceral Manipulation, and Infant & Pediatric massage. I also teach Infant massage to eager parents. My passion is learning more about different aspects of massage and the industry itself. I currently operate my own practice from home, and am excited for this new venture in my career as secretary for the RMTA.

Susan Lewis-Waye

Treasurer

Bio: I joined the RMTA as a student in 2012, and became a full member in 2013 upon completion of the required 2200 hour certification.  I also hold an International Contemporary Cupping Certification as well as a certificate for Taping Level One and Two. In 2013 I shifted my studies to Whole Woman Program and became a Certified Practitioner in 2014. I have been drawn into the circle of alternative health care and relish the opportunity it has afforded me to become involved with clients who thrive on a healing touch. I believe our industry has a viable place in the health care system so I decided to put up my hand to become part of the Board that shall help make that happen. I own my clinic in Drumheller, Alberta and look forward to absorbing more information to pass on to my ever-growing client base!

Ardis Tingey-Ryall

Historian

Bio:My name is Ardis Tingey-Ryall, I have been a massage therapist for 20 years and I own my own business In Touch Massage Centre in Lloydminster. I have belonged to the RMTA for 20 years. I joined RMTA because I believed in what they stood for. They only allow 2200 hour therapists to join their association so I knew that I was going to be among other therapists that were worthy of the title RMT and had good education background. I have been on the RMTA board for 12 years and continue to support the new executive in office today. I believe in the RMTA so much that I have served as a board member for years and I believe that we all must do our part to help it to move forward and stay strong.
