Annual General Meeting

The AGM will commence at 7:00 pm on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino in Calgary, AB. A Meet and Greet with refreshments provided will begin at 6pm and a Q&A will continue after the AGM from 8pm-9pm. Please click on the button below to register. Tradeshow

There will be also be a tradeshow commencing on Friday, October 12th until Sunday, October 14th at our 2018 Conference. We are hoping on having 12-14 booths this year! 1. Usui Reiki Level 1

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us. If one's "life force energy" is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

2. Kinetic Massage of the Neck

3. Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a highly specialized technique that can be used to treat many injuries and pathologies. It can be performed as a preventative technique that bolsters our bodies' ability to rejuvenate and resist all types of stress. MLD not only stimulates the vital functions of the skin, tissues and internal organs, but also serves to eliminate cellular waste and stimulate the parasympathetic relaxation response inhibiting muscle tonus and pain. It provides an excellent tool for massage therapists when regular massage is contraindicated.

4. Applied Reflexology for Massage Therapists

Aspects of Reflexology have been adapted to give the Massage Therapist the opportunity to incorporate specific Foot Reflexology techniques to promote circulation and muscle balance. These Reflexology skills add to a therapists’ knowledge base, therapy skills and body/mind awareness approach to a therapy session. This two day workshop includes: A knowledge base of Reflexology that is applicable to Massage Therapy, Reflexology techniques to assist muscle imbalances, Foot reflexes to aid lymphatic circulation, and Foot Reflexology techniques to address imbalances along the spine and the shoulder/pelvic girdle.

5. Pregnancy and Postnatal Massage

This seminar will cover pregnancy massage, stretching techniques, proper positioning and draping specific to pregnant and postpartum women. Contraindications, complications, postural changes and basic anatomy of the pelvis will be examined. Labor massage techniques and postpartum care will also be taught. This course will show therapists how to treat expecting women effectively and compassionately.

6. Thai Yoga Massage Table Format

This program shifts the ancient art of Thai Yoga Massage from its traditional floor work on to the massage table. This technique allows the massage to intermingle with any other bodywork or to perform on its own practitioners can create individualized healing experiences by blending gentle stretching, acupressure and breath work in a rhythmic dance.

7. Headache & Migraine: The Osteopathic Approach

Upon completion of this two day workshop the participants will be able to identify and treat clients suffering with Headache and Migraine issues by utilizing both bio-mechanical and mobilization techniques that Alexandre has demonstrated and illustrated using the Osteopathic View. These include; How to mobilize the cervical spine to treat tension headaches and alleviate pain, how to mobilize the cranial sutures in order to improve the cranial bio-mechanical mechanism, how to assess and treat the vascular system in relation to headaches, and be able to apply specific clinical tests to help in determining the bio-mechanical cause of the pain.
